It has been since March 13, 2020 that Prairie Ridge implemented a visitor restriction in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. This was a measure put in place to protect its residents and employees while limiting the spread of the virus as infections increased across county, state, and nation. When the visitor restriction was announced, it was at the time believed to be a temporary restriction but soon became the “new normal” at the senior living community.
So, it was with great pleasure when Prairie Ridge announced their next step in the reopening phase and began allowing loved ones back inside resident apartments on April 12th. It has been long awaited news and delivering the update to residents and their families was simply wonderful.
“Opening back up to a more normal lifestyle is the best news we've had in a year! Our residents and team have been tremendously compassionate to each other, and adaptive to all the changes. This change, bringing our families and friends back into our community, is the best one yet!” - Eric Dregne, President/CEO of Prairie Ridge
Prairie Ridge of Galena will continue to utilize reopening guidelines given from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and knowledge from local health officials as we keep pushing forward. If you have any questions about Covid-19 procedures, please give us a call at 815-281-2393.
